That is certainly true of warships where the same kit can be reissued as any number of different sister ships in the same class. Ocean liners on the other hand tended to be far more unique, and the plastic models reflect this. I can't imagine the Mauretania would have held the Blue Riband all those years if she had Titanic's hull!
: I had read that the model makers used the same molds to model the hulls for different ships. But it looks like they are doing it right. As you can see, I am not a plastic model type of person.
