: Dalton

: I think for the reasons you stated, we are going early in the morning to get there as soon as it opens. I can understand what you are saying about how the exhibits are arranged and what may or may not be there.

: I am greatful to see any of the artifacts and I don't know if any of us have inflated expectations of what we think will be there. In fact, most of us have a fairly extensive knowledge of the ship and may look at the exhibit as critically as you did. But for myself, I will look at anything that is Titanic-related. It is a great reason to get the group of us together so I finally get to meet people I have only seen on the message board.

: I am just as interested in the group meeting we will have after we leave the museum, because there will be a chance to look at a lot things being brought by people such as Bruce Beveridge.

: I am looking forward to meeting the people who will be there.

Doug,

Good. I certainly understand that coming together with those you've met here is more important to you than the actual exhibition. I didn't mean to disuade anyone - just thought I'd weigh in with my experience. I've always felt that the only good reason for vacation travel is the chance for serendipity; let's face it - it's easier to relax at home. Who knows? Your fondest memory might end up being that brief walk down Michigan Avenue to get lunch. Or it might be that chat with a stranger at the airport as you're getting ready to fly home. Just don't expect to find it at the exhibition. Unless you bring a flashlight and a cattle prod. That's all I'm saying...
