While in Southampton, Bruce and Robert were given a tour of one of the museums' back rooms (I don't remember which museum).
Anyway, from what Bruce tells me, Robert suddenly took off down an aisle screaming "BRUCE! BRUCE! LOOK AT THIS!".
There on a top shelf was a real live Lord Kelvin's patent motorized sounding machine! He said it was painted green and looked similar to what we had guessed, but with some minor differences.
Anyway, he got a bunch of pictures of it, so we'll all know what the darned thing looks like now. I haven't seen the pics yet either, but I'm sure he'll post them as soon as he can.
He said there was also the more familiar crank type sounding machine right next to it, and he got some photos of it too. Cool.
