: This whole thing is still in the air. We are working on sponsors, but the wreck model idea might be an idea as there will be more than one class of competition.

If there is a wreck model class, accuracy needs to remain a criteria. Atistic impression can score points in this class, but research and accuracy need to remain the primary criteria in addition to modeling skill.
IPMS goes by accuracy, paint, form (seams and glue splotches), and details (photo etched, scratch building, extra effort). On a research oriented site, artistic license should be a minor consideration. Certainly non-wrecks will lose big points for artistic license in colors and fittings.
I won't enter my wreck model, but I'll let my website be a standard. I learned a great deal in the last 4 years that could improve it. New competitors need to take advantage of new information and do better, but the research standard is high. Dating the wreck is important too, due to the changes taking place.
