I've just seen the news on TV.It seems that the Russian and Norwegian divers,who are trying to retrieve the corpses from the KURSK,found a letter inside the pocket of the First Officer.He wrote that he managed to escape to the rear compartments after the explosion with another 23 crew members(though realizing they "had no chance to survive") and that he was writing the letter in the dark due to the lack of electric power.
This discredits the position of the Russian Navy who assured that all of the crew members died instantly from the explosion.It's not easy to immagine those moments in the dark inside the sunken submarine.Perhaps those who died instantly were luckier.
