: Is there any written record of what became of them?

The short version is that the boats were inspected and inventoried several times as part of the inquiry process. They were not replaced immediately on other ships due to legal inquiries. Ultimately, the Lane Lifeboat Company bought them as salvage and they were towed to their boatyard in the Erie Basin. Once the source was known, these boats could not be resold to the shipping lines. One was sold to a hunting club on Long Island for use in duck blinds (lost to decay) and another was sold to a nauticle theme restaurant (lost when the place was demolished). The rest apparently rotted away.
