: : Let's just say that there was a conspiracy. The ship that left Southampton on 4/10/12 was the Titanic, thats what it said on the ship, so even
: : if it was a re-dressed Olympic it was now Titanic.
: : So the ship on the bottom of the ocean would be the Titanic, simple. By the way, I also think that
: : any kind of a coverup on that magnitude would not
: : of been kept a secret very long, with all those
: : workers at H&W, talking, drinking after work, family gossip. I just think someone just has an
: : overactive imagination for fun or $$$.

:
: :::) I wasn't trying to stir up any theory's or anything, I just asked a simple question, however, I did read in one of the many Titanic books out there, that they did take that. I myself do not know , I thought maybe someone out there could shed some light on the matter!

I also recall reading somewhere that the propeller was taken from Titanic to replace the blade lost by the Olympic. In checking, however,I did find that the propeller shaft and other key parts were taken from Titanic in order to expedite repairs after Olympic's collision with the Hawk. While the lost blade is mentioned in several books, I found no reference to a blade being taken from Titanic to replace it. I'm still checking though just to make sure. I don't think taking a propeller blade from Britannic would be an issue. The Olympic lost the blade in February, 1912, and at the time of Titanics loss in April, only the framing of Britannic's double bottom had been completed. Hope that helps.
