: well blake, on my Titanic i used balsa strips and flat head pins as hull plates and rivits, this creates that smooth but rough look and feel that i wanted for her but with Lusitania i used saolid cardboard squares and fit them together like puzzle pieces and i plan to use the same thing as rivets. the cardboard creates a bulky effect that fits the Lusi and when glued together acts like a "skin" and is very stable and trustworthy and looks great! i hope this assists you in any way

Blake, For the plates on the hull of my scratch built Titanic I used 1/32 birch "tape" . The "tape" for lack of a better word is used for trimming out the edges of plywood. It is preglued on the back side. The glue is dry to the touch but when you apply
heat(a clothes iron) it bonds the meterial. However I used contact glue on the back of my plates, just for the ease of putting them on the hull. The tape can be found at most lumber yards carring birch plyood. If you look at some of my pics here and
The Debri Field you can see the method I used to apply the plates.

Hope this helps.....if not e-mail me and I'll give you more info.
Steven
