I also found out what "pitch Pine" really is, Pitch is natural within pine as pitch is basically sap. When they use pitch pine, they are using the cuts of a tree that are closer to the outside edges, hence they would have higher pich consistency. The wood from the innermost parts of the tree having less, as pine continually creates sap outwards.

The Queen Mary did have teak decks as well as the other big three Cunarders, and probably the rest of them also.
