Bruce
I was thinking about a topic that it still a challenge and has been discussed in another thread. That is how to paint the decks to look like wood.
After reading all the other threads Bruce, I have not been able to determine what the supposed color was of the Titanic's wood decks. Did you state whether they were light, medium or dark wood? I don't even remember what type of wood you said it was. I will go back and look at the discussions, but for accuracy's sake, isn't it important that the true shade and color be nailed down?
Any wood, be it pine, teak, or other type, can take on a myriad of tones depending on how the wood is treated and maintained. I would really like to hear what you and the rest of the experts have to say about the true color of the deck planking. Again, for accuracy, we might all be way off in our depiction of the color.
Bruce, do you have information you can relay here about the exact color? My shade that I painted may be far off, and if we all want accuracy, the color of the deck planking makes up a large portion of the visible model. I bet none of us are truly accurate because I have seen so many different opinions on what paint to use, what shades, it all seems to be everyone's opinions.
So what IS the real color of the deck planking? Do we have any idea?
