Hello Jeanne,

: Testors Tan #1167 is what I used on the funnels. Did you see the photo I sent?

Yes but I tend not to have much faith in colours in photos as it is rare that they capture the true colour used.

The pictures of my Titanic are not even close to what is seen on the real model.

: Then they look right? I hated the orangeish color they were B-4 I painted them. Actually, I had a tiny accident with the tan, it got spilled last night, I picked it up & the top came off. At least it didn't do any permenant damage, just got on me & the box to the model which is wipeable.

Working on your tan, eh? :-)

: & what's strange is, I also have another Testors tan that came with a paint kit that is more a peach color than tan, isn't that strange? That's the color I have been using on the passengers & crew for the face & hands.

A word about the base Testor colours. I have noticed numerous times that two bottles of the same colour are NOT always the same when they dry. There can be a shade or three difference in them. If you plan to use more than one bottle of the same colour I suggest to poor them both into a larger bottle and mix them together to obtain a homogenized pigment outright and then use that on your model to be sure of a uniform hue. Otherwise problems can occur if you are painting in stages or separate bottles.

I have not had this happen with thei Model Master Line or any other manufacturer, JUST the basic Testors line. :-/

Cheers, Mike
