Hello Jeanne,
: Sure does! Hey, how'd you make the "blankets?"
This is from the "Miscellaneous" section of the Official Titanic Scale Model Tutorial;
[quote]
"Some of the people lounging in the chairs are covered with blankets. The blankets were made from small squares of plastic food wrap cellophane and glued into place, later to be painted in different colours."
[end quote]
That's it. Just cut the wrap into small squares and glue it over the people down to the deck. When dry paint them as you like to something that would be seen during that period with a very fine tipped brush.
: I have been going to your site with the how tos on the rivet counter, lots of great information there!
The Rivet Counter site is the property of David Cotgreave. On his behalf I thank you for the compliments of the data he has posted. A fine site for any Titanic modeler. David is a class gentleman of the highest order. With luck he may be one of the members of Survivor II. :)
: I think your grand staircase is awesome still. Mine won't be as fancy, but at least I did a little more with it than it was...FI: the flooring, the back walls & added some people.
Thanks for the compliments regarding the GSC. As it was the showpiece of the real Titanic I knew at an early stage I wanted to have one on my model. Figuring out what to do and how to do it was a challenge. Likewise for the gym. Unfortunately all the gym equipment, ship schematic and world map, cupboards, wainscotting, etc that I added can not be seen.
The GSC was a fun build and makes the model appear to have more depth when looking inside.
Glad to see others willing to give it a try also. Therein is what I consider to be the true enjoyment of model building.
: Thanks again.
Anytime!
Cheers, Mike
