Jeanne:
You are referring to the railings which divided
different promenade areas on the boat deck.
The picture you posted is confusing. The railings were:
1. P&S railings for the Officers promenade.
I believe the starboard railing was at the
forward corner of the first class entrance
vestibule.
The port side railing was just forward of the
forward expansion joint.
2. The next railing aft was P&S at the aft corners
of the deckhouse under the 3rd funnel. Forward
of this railing was 1st class promenade. Aft
of it was the engineers promenade.
3. The next railing aft P&S was at the aft corners
of the Tank room. Forward of this was the
engineers promenade. Aft of it was second
second class promenade space.
The only one whose location I'm not 100% sure if I've given you the correct answer for Titanic is
the forward starboard dividing railing. The position I gave was correct for Olympic but if someone has information about Titanic's position being different, chime in please.

: : I don't understand your question. Are you asking
: : where railings are located on the boat deck?
: : Are you asking how many different types are there
: : (i.e. 5 bar, 1 bar, 2 bar)? Are you including the deckhouse roofs? Are you talking about railings which prevented access to different areas of the boat deck? Specifics?

: : : OK, this is confusing, on James Cameron's CD when you see the model, there appears to be three railings on the boat deck, but on the tour, there is only 2. Can anyone help me as to how many there really were? Many thanks in advance.
