Hi fellow T. modelers
O.K. Here is another idea of mine. We all know by now how difficult it is to get decent windows on the 1:350 Minicraft Titanic. I myself like both ideas: decals and PE but both are very difficult. I'll try the PE parts first. Let's see how it turnes out.
Here is my idea: After thinking and thinking...The best way might be that each bulkhead section would be made of two etched metal sheets, a method sucessfully used for structure models in small scale model railroading. The sheet behind has the window frames and mullions and the outward sheet, representing the bulkhead itself, has the cutouts. They can be painted separately, they are self aligning and probably fitting better than the original bulkheads. O.K. like this we are heading towards a brass Titanic. I'll say why not? And it may be not very cheap. I think that plastic requires expensive machinery and resin would be too brittle and not as sharply detailed as PE sheets, right?
Any opinions about my idea???
I would be very grateful.
thanks in advance
Cheers
Christian
