: : : what makes it historicly incorrect
: : Blake is right it does have a missing railing on the boat deck and not enough lifeboats or anchors but alot of this can be fixed. If you had it sitting on your shelf I dont think anyone would notice the flaws. Right now Im working on a Minicraft and Academy model and once again the quality on the Minicraft model is to say the least is very poor. The windows on the half inclosed promenade deck are flashed shut and it looks like someone from the factory used a screwdriver to dig some of the flash out now they are round. If you want a model that is Historicly correct The Minicraft is the way to go,but be prepared at times to want to throw it at the wall and you will start talking like a trucker before its done. If you dont mind having a model that has a few flaws(some can be fixed) much better quality and easier assembly the Academy is the way to go.

: When you say "once again the Minicraft" I am assuming you are referring to the accurized version. I've read about the corrections made and brass fittings, but has the quality and fit not improved at all over the old version?
Yes Jeremy Im referring to the new version. As far as I can see its the same model with some extras. The brass railing kit is nice and the thread for the rigging is smaller diameter. But it is assembled the same as the older version . I cant see where fit is going to be any better than the older version. Ive taken three of them back to the place I bought them and had them replaced, but each one I get has something else wrong with it. Dont get me wrong its still the best model of T out there, but when I pay $75.00 for a model would hope that the hull sides werent bowed in on each other and the flash in the windows werent scraped out with a screwdriver. I wish Minicraft would bring these molds back to the states.
