Hey John,
In my opinion there really is nothing much changed on the new model. It is up to you if you feel like purchasing the New kit. Keep in mind, though, that the new kit comes with a set of photoetched rails! This is a VERY GOOD investment to have. The tutorial is solely based on reinfinements to the old kit, although they are updating the guide. SO if you are worried about not getting all the details down packed, you can stop. If you have any kit, the guide WILL help you.
