: What is the deal here? Kit instrucions say paint hatches on well decks gray or white. Which one? Were the hatches covered with canvas hence the gray? What about the color of the bridge wing cab roof? Kit says white yet Cameron's Titanic was gray as are other models I've seen. Kit says paint morse lamps gray yet weren't these instruments brass? I want authenticity known before I begin. Any ideas fellas?

The well deck hatches should be a light colour. Flat white with just a hint of grey and radome tan would give it a slight weathered look.

Wing Cab roofs were light grey (bitumen covered canvas). These had a white border around them with dark brown trim along the edges. Page 44 of Rober Ballard's Exploring The Titanic is a good reference to use, although it now appears the bridge roof in that Marschall painting is wrong.

Bridge Roof - current thought is that it too was grey bitumen covered canvas over wood as seen in the Camaeron movie sinking scenes.

Semaphore Morse lamps I painted brass.

Lifeboat covers should also be a white radome tan mix for weathered canvas. Not grey!

Cheers, Mike
