Hello everyone,
Well, the games begun, I started gluing up the first of many many pieces to come. Thank you all for the great information you all share. I think I may have a good angle on a glue to use for the plastic builders out there. My local hobby store has started to carry a product called "TENAX-7R"
With T7R you glue on the joint instead of dabbing glue to the bottom of matting pieces. I am using a hobby syringe with this product and the results seem excellent. TENAX-7R has the consistancy of water and actually seems to plasti-weld the parts together. I still plan to use CA on some areas further along in the project and of course the good old Testors brand but in the early stages such as gluing the propeller shafts to the hull, I am very impressed with this product.
If anyone else has used this product, let me know your feelings about it. Also, if anyone is interested in this product, let me know and I'll ask the shop owner where he orders it from. The bottle I purchased is 1 fl oz. and cost $2.50.
I don't know about a shelf life but I'm possitive it will go bad before I use it all....talk about a little goes a long way!!!
Best Regards to all.
