You mentioned the masts were built in sections.
Do you know how many sections there were and how long each section was? Do you also know how tall the top teak section was? Why make the top section out of teak? Why not have it be of the same constructiona as the rest of the mast? I assume they fit into each other and were bolted together in some manner?
