Good experience with 1/350 Titanic
by

Dear John, I´ve fitted an RC-control into the 1/350 kit and all I can say is it works well and is resonably save to operate on ponds. Tamiya manufactures an RC-set for very small RC-cars. It´s half the size of a pack of cigarettes and comes together with a micro servo. It can´t handle much power, but ample for the titanic model. There´s enough space for batteries (In runs on 7.2V, I use 9V), in fact I´ve fitted a full lighting. For access I can take of the A-Deck and part of the poop deck. The seams are visible if you look closely, but if you don´t know where they are ... One problem is stability. I´ve put some lead in the bottom, so that the ship just ballances. By that way it doesn´t roll at all and there´s no danger of capsizing or taking on water. I haven´t used the modell in the last 2 years as RC-model but put it in a display case and fitted some of the gold medal stuff. I think I´ll have it ready for april next year again.

Best regards

Thomas
