You can be part of my tool box any day!!! I greatly appreciate the debate, and though not keeping score, would hardly say I haven't agreed with many of your observations. I'm still in limbo on the vent question, given the two photos in "Voices," p. 117 and similar shots that seem to be quite clear in quality, as well as an occasional vent on some of the predecessors of Big "O" and "T". I also recall reading somewhere that White Star had buff vents, which I would not attribute to the exteriors, but it could have been an interior color, or a prior trademark color. Look at the changes in the airlines, for example. Even if I ultimately go with white or grey shaded interiors, it won't be because yuou didn't make me think about it.

Regarding the wheelhouse, I'll wait until my "Anatomy" comes in to see what sources are available to analyze this issue.
