In my opinion, 1/350 scale would only work if you were going to use it in some kind of indoor tank or pool because of the small size. I would guess that the smallest practical size for R/C for outdoor use (in calm conditions) would be either 1/200 or 1/192. Larger than this you get more stability but your cost also goes up. For scales larger than 1/350 scratchbuilding is your only option as far as I know.
