Karl, you'll find through your further research that the Ompic was in many ways different than the Titanic. Roy Mengot is cautious when researching for his guide which is the best thing going for the modeler interested in accuracy but he even has to update because of the Olympic-Titanic differences that become uncovered.
The shipss bell was on the front of the fore mast on the Olympic ref: Titanic by Leo Marriot. If you look at Titanic Voices on p.5 it is unquestionable. There it is, the biggest of the three bells case closed.
Oh, be aware that this phenomenon of the differences between "O" and "T" also apparently caught Ken Marschall as some of his earlieer paintingss are inaccuratee but his later ones are corrected. The cover over the #1 hold for instance is one example along with the placement of the ships bell on the fore mast.
