I see the posts and agree that they were at the
corners adjacent to the ladders. In fact, I believe
that the posts (or stanchions) form the outboard
leg of each ladders and serve a dual purpose that
way. Makes sense to me - why add an unnecessary
vertical post when an existing one will do the job?
