I whole-heartedly agree that we've waited long enough for some one to come out with a REAL Titanic model, aven a hull. I think the model companies really missed the boat (pun intended) by not offering something by now. I'd LOVE to see a company like Tamiya make one, but an injection kit could take years to develop. I don't think anyone had a clue that there would be such an interest after the movie.
I just have one small problem with Scott's suggestion, and that is the scale. 1/96th comes out to over nine feet long! While this would certainly be impressive, I can't see building something like this in my apartment! I would rather see a more conservative scale, and 1/192 is much more manageable. In case anyone is wondering why the odd scale, this is a common scale used by ship modellers and is the equivelent of 1/16" = 1'. Or look at it as one fourth the size of 1/48th.
It would be great to have BOTH scales, but my vote goes to the smaller scale. Let's discuss this and then let Mr. Upshaw know we're out here!
