Stair cover

Some time back there was a thread discussing what appeared to be some sort of a small extension to Titanic's deckhouse under the third funnel on the aft side. The extension exists on the model and it is just forward of the aft expansion joint. Well, after securing a copy of "Titanic: Triumph and Tragedy" by Eaton and Haas, the mystery of this small structure was solved. It is a cover over a stairway that proceeds downward ultimately terminating on E deck. Eaton and Haas show the entry door to be on the port side.
Last night I was looking at James Cameron's Titanic movie photo book. It shows this stairway cover with a squared front and a rounded rear as most stairway covers are seen. However, it is shown with the entry on the starboard side. There are quite a number of errors of deck structures in the movie due to negative flipping and just plain mistakes so I am reluctant not to take Eaton and Haas as the authority. Anyone have knowledge or opinions on this matter?
Also, the Titanic rigging plan shows a door facing starboard.
