One other word of caution. The whistles on the model have only
one bell; the real whistles have three. The bells are 9", 15" & 12"
diameter from starboard to port in that order. The 9" bell is about
2/3 the height of the center bell and the 12" bell is about 3/4 the
height. The diameters at 1/350 scale work out to .025", .042" & .032"
[0.65mm, 1.09mm & 0.87mm] respectively. They are connected across the
bottom by a manifold which is bolted to the supply pipe. The topic of
altering the whistles has been covered in previous posts if you'd like
suggestions on how to accomplish this.
