I had the same problem. When I masked to paint the white section, the well deck was too low. I used filler putty to fix it. I ran a narrow bead of it along the edge of the well deck making the edge higher than it really needed to be. Then, when the filler was dry, I used needle files to make it the correct shape. I really only raised the edge 1/16" towards the bow of the ship. The filler tapered off from there.
