Stein:
You can look all day at Olympic photos (other than the one I offer) and you will find the same amount of evidence for the stripe on the Olympic as the Titanic: vague. It was my intent to show that the Olympic had this stripe and by extension, so did her sisters. If you want to argue that the stripe may have been on the Olympic but not the Titanic then there is a whole lot of stuff that we say was on the Titanic that we must now discard because we only have evidence from the Olympic. Example: Have you ever seen any photos of the Titanic's first class lounge? Neither have I. However I think that a reasonable person could assume that they both had the same layout. If we have clear evidence (preferably from photos) that the Titanic differed from the Olympic in some aspect then we can state that difference for sure. If we don't have such evidence I think it is reasonable to assume that they were the same. In fact, I can find more convincing photographic evidence for a stripe on the Titanic than I can for the Olympic
(other than my photo). See E.E. O'Donnell's "The Last Days of the Titanic" p.73.

: Bob,
: Could be that the "Olympic" had the "stripe", but I must agree with Jason that there are doubtful evidence on the "Titanic stripe" photos, which can be "mistaken" as a reflection of dull paint from the raised "half round iron bar" (whatever the right name is)
: I give a pennny to the guy that have the proof.
