The photo is from a 1976 double issue of the Titanic Commutator about the Olympic. The specific photo credit is not given but other maiden voyage photos like this one are either attributed to the Mariners Museum or the Library of Congress. In later postings we can debate the color. I wanted to get past debating its existence.

Bob,
Could be that the "Olympic" had the "stripe", but I must agree with Jason that there are doubtful evidence on the "Titanic stripe" photos, which can be "mistaken" as a reflection of dull paint from the raised "half round iron bar" (whatever the right name is)
I give a pennny to the guy that have the proof.
