: Hello,
: I have a few quick questions on painting of the hull.

: 1) The directions don't say anything about painting the
: actual black (since its already molded black). I'm sure that
: painting it would look much better, but will it cover some
: of the details on the side of the ship?? Or will the molded
: black look fine.

: 2) If I do paint the black, should I paint before or after I drill out the portholes?

: 3) About the gold strip. I've noticed pictures (the box and Loren Perry's model) with
: the gold strip going all the way around the hull between the black and white. I've also
: seen numerous messages talking about it only around the stern. Is this the same gold
: stripe or am I confused. Which is correct.

: I apologize if this has been covered before. I try to read all the message boards (there all
: awesome, found many answers to questions I've had) before I ask a question. Of course, everytime
: I read them I find new info which I've missed before. Thanks for the great site!

: Thanks for any help.

I agree with Alex; you should definately paint the hull. I painted mine quite late on, and never regretted it. It makes the model look much more realistic and solid.
