Try carefully scraping off the white paint to expose the black molded plastic of the hull. A way to do this might be using the proper size milling cutter (Dremel tool tip) held in a pin vise and twisted by hand. Then, apply a drop of clear glossy lacquer to each porthole to simulate glass.
