Getting that narrow a stripe painted well is a real chore -- it's hard to mask that accurately. Let me recommend Microscale railroad stripe decals in "dulux" gold -- this is the correct mustard color. These can be put on in sections and positioned accurately by "floating" them into place.

The first water soak should be carefully blotted with Q-tips and the decals allowed to dry. Then, the most important step is to apply decal solvent to make the decals snuggle down around the rivet detail on the hull. Then, after this has evaporated, the decals should be sealed with a clear paint overspray. -- Alex Arnakis
