I just learned of the comparison images placed on
the Navis website. Here's the address so you can
all see for yourselves:

The latest news on the situation: Mr. Tom
Harrison, owner of Tom's Modelworks (the firm
that made unauthorized copies of my 1/350 Titanic
detail set) has written me and e-mailed me to
let me know that he's taking his copy off the
market due to a "claim" (his quotation marks,
not mine) of copyright infringement made by me. His
use of quotation marks apparently indicates an
attempt by him to cast doubt on the validity of my
charges made against him.
To date, he has not - repeat - not denied
doing any of this. But at the same time, he's
attempted to create the illusion that there truly
is, or was, an original ink master drawing of his
set which he or one of his workers prepared. Thus
far, he has been unable to produce such a drawing.
For the record, this first became known to me
on Thursday, May 21st. On Saturday, May 23rd, I
received my advertiser's copy of FineScale Modeler
magazine (July 1998 issue) and on page 12, a color
photo of the Tom's Modelworks copy of our fittings
is printed as part of the New Products announcement
column.
Once again, to all readers, be advised that
the Tom's Modelworks Titanic brass detail set can
no longer be purchased. Also, it is no longer being
made by the photoetcher who originally manu-
factured the copy due to the etcher's discontinu-
ing all production of this set after they'd
determined for themselves that it was indeed a
copy of our original.
The situation appears to be nearing resolution
but we still have not received an apology from
Mr. Harrison, which is really our only objective.
Finally, I paid a visit to Mr. Harrison's
website (the Tom's Modelworks website and catalog
visible on the Warship webpage) and he has on
display there some of his own products. Next to
the images of some of them is the following
statement:

"Images are shown at reduced size to prevent
unauthorized copying."
