If you wish not to paint the model, I recommend that you purchase the 1/400 Academy model which has pre-coloured molded parts. Otherwise I would paint the model. It makes all the difference to the finished product.

As for Revell replacing your model, it would be nice if they did just for the PR aspect seeing as their suggestion wasn't helpful. Otherwise if you end up fitting the bill for a new model, then consider the 1/400.
