Is this an appropriate venue for asking a question about the S.S. United States? Does anyone know
the exact color of the composition decking of the United States? From what I've seen so far on web-sites on the
S.S.US, it appears to be a sort of meduim bluish-green. (the Revell instructions just said "green"). I'm reworking a model of her that I built
when I was a teenager - getting my sea legs back for the Titanic contest. I found a color (for the S.S.US)
that looked GREAT in the bottle, but may in fact be too dark. All the good overhead shots of the US
seem to be in black&white. So now I've got the S.S. United States going, with Titanic immediately behind her
and a 20 year old (unbuilt) Queen Mary waiting to be built behind HER! I may have to get a bigger pier!
Also, I just finished a (Dover) history of the S S Normandie, by Frank Braynard. My LORD what an elegant ship she was!!
Any help on the "United States' deck color would be appreciated!
Thanks,
John
