Lisa
Here is something to consider that may eliminate your "scared" feeling of not putting on all of details mentioned in this website and in the tutorials.
My feeling is that in most cases in modeling, when someone else looks at your model, they will notice the overall look, not all of the details we all read about here at this webisite.
The people that look at your model (and hopefully you as well), will notice that you have built a beautiful model of the Titanic, but they are not going to criticize you for leaving off things that are mentioned at this web site.
I truly feel that we all should do what we can to enhance its looks, but I am not going to feel bad if I put on less detail than someone else. The model was still assembled by me, and I will be proud of it.
When I finally do my 1/350 I intend to do as much as I can to add detail to it, and I will be proud of it no matter how much I put on or leave off. I will do what I feel I am able to do.
Lisa, not all of us are rivet counters so do what you can and do it well, and don't worry what you are leaving off. There is room in this hobby for all of us at varying skill levels. Be proud of what you do and do it well. Don't sweat all of the details, this is supposed to be fun, not an agonizing experience.
I salute everyone who puts their Titanic together because it demands discipline and skill. We should all be proud of this great ship as we put her together. There is talent in each of us. So enjoy your modeling experience and have fun, do your best and make it look great. And don't worry about every rivet. I promise you it will be the Titanic when you are done.
