This comes from a discussion on a Titanic list group. Does anyone have any proof that Titanic had a lamp on the main mast (aft mast). The rigging plan shows the docking lights but they are below the height of the stacks.
I've searched through my considerable stack of photos and see that Olympic post-disaster photos have docking lights moved up the mast and a new object, posiitioned like a main mast light is added. I've seen nothing on pre-disaster photos to suggest a main mast light above the height of the funnels on either Titanic or Olympic.
The question is sparked by another round of Californian debate.
