James, Mark and Dan,
How do I find the advertisements that might indicate who did the original domes? I still think there must be some realatively recent reproductions of the dome glass patterns. I've seen models in books with cut-aways that show the domes in great detail.
I appreciate all your help with this quest.

: Mark: The welin davit was patented. I don't have the patent number on hand but I'll send it to you. A lot of this stuff was patented, and fortunately, the patent books in most us libraries, if they have them, started in 1906-07, so most of this stuff is in print. When I researched the davit for my ship, I came up with three Welin Davits before 1911, one of the others is the one on the Carpathia. There are photographs of it especially with Capatin Rostron posing with a survivor. Of the three davits, I have two of them listed here, but no diagram so i can not be sure it which is the right one, numbers 958,340 and 938,448. Axel Welin. But it may be the other patent number.
