price of the Hahn plans

I have been getting some letters about the price of the plans, specifically the big sets. I want to make a few statements on the reason why they are as high as they are.

we compared the prices to the plans that are already out there. The Samut plans were
going for $75.00 and as many of you may know, are very simple, take offs of the
1933 Olympic G/A's and inaccurate for the Titanic, though they are
decent! To his credit, he does state that his information base was cut short while he was drawing them. the price of the Samut plans is down to $40 or $50.00 because
they are being sold through Titanic INC. at their exhibits. This is
only one sheet of paper at 1/350th scale. The Taubman plans were
ranging at $80.00 or so. I won't even comment on those things, I hear they are not good.
With the Hahn plans, you get the whole thing. All of the finds found on
these message boards by myself and the rest over the past year or two.
They also have the hull lines and sections for easily building the
hull. Separate illustrations for the cranes and other deck apparatuses
as well as a vent inventory showing the vents in four views. Each deck
house is shown in five views. Yes, there are details that I found on the Titanic that were not, or barely discussed on the message boards. These are on the plans!
The profile drawing on page 1 is basically the rigging plans' port hole arrangement. H&W charges around 50 bucks just for that plus shipping.
Comparing the information on the Hahn plans to what Samut and Taubman
charges for their plans, you're getting a decent price. The 1/192 and
1/144 plans are four pages at 68 s.f. and 96 s.f. The 1/100th set is a
huge, 8 page 204 s.f. A Titanic at 1/100 is a model over 8 feet long! that is a lot of paper. compare this in price to Samuts approx. 12 s.f.
1/350th at 50 bucks. With the information added, doubling or tripling the information and size on the Samut plan, you see where we get the price. On top of that, these plans are not photocopies, they are plot drawn and do not have the shrinkage associated with photocopiers. We are selling our 1/350th set at $60.00 and it is
in the price range of Samuts and far better in accuracy. This is why we decided to make up a set in this scale, for those who weren't interested in scratch building.
