The plans indicate that the bottom mouldings of both the fore and aft gunwales should be painted black. You would place the gold band right below this and carry it aft. Amidships, there would have to be a black line the same size as the moulding above the gold band fore and aft. If I am correct, this black line would encompass the very last or top row of rivets along the side of the hull.
