Hello,
Its not that I'm against the idea of a large photo archive, in fact I think it would be great to have one with photos you don't see in other web archives. Its just that I won't be able to do it with my current server. Heres a break down of my current webpage stats...
I have a total of 3000 MB of data tranfer space.
I use about 2700 MB or more a month
If you don't know what the data transfer is, its the amount of disk space used everytime someone downloads my page onto their system. All photos, graphics, and text pages are sent out to your computer: data transfer in a nutshell. The one thing that can increase this fast are large photos(even small ones). Thats one reason I had to get rid of my original photo archive. Even the board archives are located ona different server. I have 50MB of actual space to use for files, I have to limit myself to about 20MB or less because I get a large amount of visitors. The more visitors, the less I can carry. I just can't afford to upgrade to the next server level of 5000MB data transfer space. For now I would rather leave any space open for articles, model photos, and the association.
I'm open to ideas if anyone has any...
