Here's an idea. I was looking at the resources of the National Maritime Museum (UK)and noticed they had some White Star Line dishes and pottery in their archives. Some of the dishes have "White Star Line" in brown, I wonder if it is the funnel color? Perhaps the funnel color is preserved in pictures of the ship on souvenir dishes. The color would not change in porcelain. If a dish or a mug could be identified, (decorated mugs were a specialty of the Germans), then they may be either in the Art Market under Rare Art Glass or lying in the debris field.
