I think what you are looking at is supposed to be the handrails which were attached to the walls. They are not actually a border though they kind of look like it -- when I made my first model in 1975 I thought that was what they were too and painted brown below the line. Actually, the walls were white all the way. The line should be brown (the rails) on the promenade deck and I think they were actually white on the boat deck -- I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong! 8-)

: I noticed that on the 1:350th model that at the bottom of the wall is a trim, and I've noticed that some people paint brown below that but i'm not sure if that's accurate or not. If it's not brown what color is it? is it white? or something else.
