I went to the exhibit when it was in Minneapolis (2 hour drive for me) this last spring. I almost didn't go as I thought the price was steep too...but I was worried I would regret not going...so I went and I was certainly not disappointed. All the artifacts are well displayed...the entire exhibit is very well put together. From a modeling standpoint it is also an excellent exhibit as they had two large models on display...I am thinking 1/100 scale or so. One model of the wreck and one of the ship in its glory days. ANYWAY..I won't ruin any of the exhibit by giving it away...but I felt my money was WELL spent.
Oh...I should add though...that I am NOT disappointed that I didn't go to hear them blow the whistle....they only used a fraction of the pressure and it was compressed air rather than steam. I understand them not wanting to risk any damage...but it certainly was not the sound I was looking forward to hearing. And YES..the souveniers and MANY...but that are VERY expensive.
