Yes Lisa, I think you have it.
Let me say it another way as far as I understand it. Minicraft upgraded the molds on the 1:350 Titanic back in July with about 50 upgraded changes and initially then issued the kit in the old boxes with a label sticker that said "Accurized".
Most of us ordered the upgraded kit back in July (I have mine). That kit is now available in hobby stores with a new box picture on it. But the kit does NOT come with photoetched parts, just the normal molded railings and ratlines. To add more detail you just order the photoetched pieces from GMM or Tom's Modelworks.
The "gold" kit you are referring to merely INCLUDES some photoetched pieces in the box, and it may also have a different Titanic painted on the box, someone can clarify that. Again, the railings and ratlines that ARE included in the "gold" version are the same thing you can order on your own, with considerably more pieces available from GMM. I think the word "gold" refers to the photoetched pieces (they look like a gold color, but are brass of course).
But that is the only difference, the model itself is the same one, from the same mold. The only thing extra is really the "gold" pieces which are photoetched pieces we already can order on our own.
Does that help?
