If I am correct, and I know this has been discussed before, the "gold" addition has the following differences:
1. It automatically includes photoetched railings and ratlines in the kit to replace the molded plastic railings and ratlines. This is mainly for people who buy the kit, and either don't visit this website, and don't know that you can order photoetched add-ons like we all know. It's for the average consumer, not for us here. From my understanding, the photoetched pieces are merely the standard "stuff", i.e. railings and ratlines, not much else. We all here have access to the GMM etched sheets that include considerably more pieces. But then, we are all into the Titanic more than your average hobby store patron.
2. I know the box art is different than the standard set.
3. I am not sure if additional decals are included, maybe Duane Fowler's, (soon to be Bruce's) but someone will have to tell me if those are included or not.
4. The model itself is the same upgraded one we all have access to right now.
That's it folks! Keep the one you have if it is the upgraded version and buy the photoetched add-ons, and you will have the latest in everything.
