Mark Darrah and I just returned from the International Hobby show. We were special guests of Al Trendles. Actually we were considered employees in the eyes of the exhibit center. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met!
I have a lot of new news on the hobby front. First off, I have all the information on the photo etched conversions for the Britannic and Olympic for the Minicraft model and where to get them. I will write an article on it WHEN I hear from the guy who manufactured them and WHEN he sends me a copy of the instructions for a review. I want to make sure they are worth the money and I want to make sure that he will deliver upon payment, I've been screwed before by one of his buddies, hopefully this guy is not the same. This will be posted on the Members page of the Titanic Modeling Research Association. I have pictures of all of this stuff also. The photo etched parts look neat, but there were no instructions or clues to where all of this stuff was supposed to go. I will give you all a hint, the Britannic set includes the davits!
Mark and I also found a possible match for White Star Buff, that does NOT have to be tinted! It is a new product and will be available everywhere, I think. If it is not, I will personally buy a case of the paint and you all will be able to order it from me. Before I cut loose with this, I want to apply it on something to see if I like how it looks. As we all know, sometimes the paint chips don't match the paint.
