When I was reading Joe's FO sight I remember him suggesting to place wax paper over the portholes that would be partially covered by the fore deck when glued in place. Naturally, I don't personally know what kind of effect it would be....but perhaps if you were to cover all your portholes with wax paper you could eliminate the look of the bulb shining/blinking through the portholes. Perhaps this would dim the light too much and ruin the effect compared to the free light on the upper decks, but perhaps it is worth checking???
