Thankyou all for your clarification!!...It helped a GREAT deal and I have gotten a pretty good idea of what I need/want to do in each situation concerning lighting my Titanic. I really appreciate it!
One more question on this line....I plan on painting the inside of my hull white to reflect the light as suggested (entire prepping of intior walls such as opaquing before painting white etc). I plan to wire in two 6.5 volt .5 amp bulbs through the two base supports.
I also plan to apply Krystal Klear to each porthole. This leads me to my question...Does anyone here have a similar lighting set up with their Titanic? How well will the ambiant light from the bulbs disperse to the extreme aft and fore portholes of the ship?? With the interior of the hull painted white, does the light reflect enough that there is not an extremely noticable difference in brightness? Or is it noticably dimmer and require fiber optics to be run to those portholes....with this being the case, how many portholes out should the fiber optics start?
I realize that I could test this for myself as I build my ship (and of course I plan to take my time and experiment as I go)...but it certainly helps to have a good idea of what I am looking at to begin with. For intstance..if it is suggested to put fiber optics in some of the end portholes...should I then avoid using Krystal Klear in those portholes...or can fiber optics effictively be glued later to glassed in portholes....AND has anyone tried using Krystal Klear as the bonding agent for holding the fiber optics in the portholes??
I hope you can see what I am gettin to with these questions...I just want to make sure I have the right approach from the very start. Ideally, I would like to limit my fiber optic use to light fixtures on the upper decks (cranes, walls, marker lights etc) and leave the hull and upper room lighting to the ambiant light from the bulbs...but I certainly don't want to find that the light is too bright in the center and have to end up redoing the work I have already done (Krystal Klear etc) on the far portholes. Thanks everyone!
